Baoruler | Irregular-shaped Pond Field Measurement
Share
To measure an irregular-shaped pond using the Baoruler Measuring Device, follow these steps:
I. Preparation
Ensure the Baoruler Measuring Device has sufficient battery. Turn on the device and connect it to the mobile APP. Clear obstacles around the pond to ensure an unobstructed measurement path.
II. Select Measurement Mode
If you need to measure the pond's area and perimeter, select the "Closed Shape" mode. If you only need to measure the edge length, choose the "Open Shape" mode.
III. Determine the Starting Point
Select a prominent and fixed point on the pond's edge as the starting point, such as a corner, a protruding rock, or a marker.
IV. Start Measuring
Move the Baoruler Measuring Device slowly along the edge of the pond, following its shape.
During measurement, keep the device stable, avoiding sudden shaking or tilting.
If the pond has multiple areas or a complex shape, measure in segments. Save the data after each segment before continuing to the next.
V. Complete the Measurement
Stop measuring when you have walked around the pond and returned to the starting point.
The APP will automatically calculate and display data such as the pond's perimeter and area.
VI. Data Verification and Adjustment
Check if the measurement data is reasonable. If there are errors, re-measure or adjust the measurement path.
For more precise data, you can increase the number of measurement points or use auxiliary functions (such as Ignore Point or Auxiliary Point).
VII. Export and Save
Export the measurement data in formats like CAD, PDF, or CSV for subsequent drawing, calculation, or sharing.
Precautions:
(1) During measurement, try to keep the device close to the pond's edge to minimize errors.
(2) If the pond has elevation differences or slopes, the Baoruler device can display elevation data in real-time. Analyze this data considering the actual situation.
(3) Ponds with complex shapes may require multiple measurements to take an average, improving accuracy.
